The scene from Friday's press conference.
A seemingly devoted family man not so long ago, the world number one was everything to all people and whether that was his intention or not, that was his position in society. He then started pumping chicks left right and center while his wife was being a mother to his kids back home. That in itself qualifies him for turd sandwich status but not fully fully fledged just yet.

Pick a number - Tiger will be with you shortly.
Rather than being an adult and admitting to his wife that things have been getting a bit crazy on tour, and with the pressure of dealing with near misses on the putting green and the weight of expectation he may have slipped, tripped and accidentally had sexual relations with a cocktail waitress. He instead proceeded to nail countless other chicks during a mammoth shag-a-thon keeping his shenanigans to himself, but as is always the case, the truth eventually seeped out. And when it did, he withdrew from golf and went into the wilderness where he has been ever since.

Serial womanising leads to a lack of talent behind the wheel.
Still, he isn’t a complete turd sandwich yet, dick yes, adulterer for sure, but people shouldn’t be judged too much when they step out of line in their personal lives. We never really know what lies behind the scenes and who knows if we wouldn’t have done the same as him if we were in the same situation.

When you are this rich , you do see life a little differently.
Calling a major press conference to deliver one of the lamest apologies known to man and not his return to golf makes him a turd sandwich. Suddenly Tiger is no longer a golfer, he is a guy who above all else can’t ‘keep the mouse in the house’ and that in my opinion is his problem and not one we should have to care for.
Tiger has made a big thing about his privacy, (he even named his bloody yacht Privacy) so why then have an entire press conference dedicated to a sting of soppy and rather unconvincing apologies? Could he not have done that privately to the relevant people in person?

Some things are better kept away from the press.
If he wanted to make things right with his fans and sponsors, returning to the game we love watching him play would have done that. I didn’t miss most of the first half of the Cheetahs versus Sharks game on Friday to hear him crap on about how he is going to re-embrace Buddhism and focus on being a mere mortal again. If you are not playing golf then why enter into the public spotlight?
Sure you may say that it was a PR exercise arranged by his large management team, (it must have been because I don’t quite think Tiger wrote that drivel called a speech by himself) but if Tiger is relying on his team to get him out of this mess then he is an even bigger turd sandwich then previously thought.

Speech writers - they love their jobs.
Yes he made a massive cock up, yes he was stupid, but if you want to be so gun ho with the 1 wood so to speak, then he needs to man up and deal with it accordingly. Coming across as a remorseful, pathetic choir boy is just such a cop out. Man up Tiger, I bet when you were pumping those girls in those hotel rooms you thought you were the man, acting like a little pussy now in an attempt to earn forgiveness is just too easy.

Public apologies are appropriate for politicians not sportsmen.
He should get back on the golf course, face the music and deal with it. Wasting our time with something that makes an episode of Grey’s Anatomy look butch isn’t going to solve anything. Alternatively if he was clever and really wanted to spare people the arduous task of forgiveness, he should just carry on being a playboy and living with it, it seemed to come naturally and clearly worked for him. He will be no different to John Daly and Long John has a great following, it’s not like Tiger is a role model anymore anyway and a new bad boy with real golfing brilliance is just what the game needs to up the damaged ratings.

A Playboy - a respectable gig nowadays.
I’m not the only one who thinks this either, i will close with what Donald Trump thinks of the matter. “It’s so damaged and if the reports are just half true I would recommend Tiger just call it a bad experience, say bye-bye, go out and be a wonderful playboy and win tournaments and have a good life.”

If Donald gives you advice - you take it.

By the mere fact that non-golfers tuned-in to Friday's live feed shows the vast impact that Tiger's had on the world.
What's gotten people so wound up with his public “apology” (spat) is that we were all expecting something more profound. I too, was expecting something different but to be honest 3 minutes into the “apology” I realized that people would be rubbed the wrong way & there'd be a public outcry about his lack of emotions.
There was an American golf analyst who I thought made a very valid point: Tiger Woods is not an orator, and quite recently it's become ever s0 clear that he's not the go-to-guy when it comes to relationship advice. The man's a golfer! and he's quite amazing at it.
I , for one, was quite amused at how much people were caught up in this whole saga. I must applaud Americans for not faliling to provide us with an enthrawling drama! It was well-staged & I can assure you that there are TV execs who made a tonne of money from those few minutes of airtime!
This was not an apology but rather an attempt to win back his finaniciers. This is not the 1st time that public figures have been “caught with their pants down”. Our honourable president Jay-Z, Bill Clinton, Kobe Bryant just to name but a few have been in the limelight for their bedroom antics (and i'm pretty sure that not all their dirty laundry was aired). These are people who still have mass appeal, the difference is that Tiger chose vindictive women to mess with (the chick kept his voice mail for crying out loud!)
Women who were interviewed after Friday's drama declared that they don't condone his actions but they would certainly tune in to watch the man play.. and I think that's music to any investor's ears!
Tiger will be back, people love 'Cirque du Soleil' shows but everything blows over eventually & in time, all will be forgiven. If you're a cynic you'll forever hold onto Tiger's infidelity & if you'r e a golf lover or an admirer of sport you'll look at this episode & laugh it over.
Turd Sandwiches are not gourmet meals but the man's skill on the golf course is deserving of a Michelin Star!
Is it a Tiger (leopard) doesn't change it's stripes (spots)? Either way the Tiger will roar again & no doubt this time round he'll possess a strong bite..

wow gqeba , pushing for a guest writing spot here.
very valid points, i agree with you about the Tiger roaring again but these kinds of tigers don’t change their stripes. Unless he is under house arrest or tours with a chaperone he will get back on the horse so to speak
