Of course is the answer, and with a little look at the log and applying some wild speculation, I shall show you how they are going to do so.
As it stands, this is what the log looks like right now on SuperSport.com:
Rugby Championship | LOGS
New Zealand out in front on the log points, and with another 5 points looking likely this weekend, we can say with a fair amount of confidence that they will be on 23 points by the end of the this weekend.
The Boks are set to play Australia this weekend at Newlands, a match that you feel they will win, but not with a bonus point. This then keeps them 5 points behind the All Blacks going into the crucial Ellis Park clash next weekend. So essentially, to win the Rugby Championship, after beating Australia, the Springboks need to register a 4 try bonus point win against the All Blacks on October 5th, will preventing them from any sort of bonus point and beating them by a significant margin.
In short, they need to give them a proper klap in that final match!
If the Boks do at Newlands what they did to the Shackle Draggers at Brisbane, they will then sit on 19 points after this weekend, and if the Kiwis battle to run away with it in Argieland, they will only be on 22 points.
If this happens, then all the Boks need to do is win the match at Ellis Park and prevent the All Blacks from getting a bonus point.
Either way though, a sound beating of the All Blacks is needed next week. For the hopes of winning the trophy, and for some vengeance from Eden Park.
