At TheBounce we believe that summer was invented for cricket. Test cricket mostly, but throughout the year you will find endless banter and features about all forms of the noble game right here.

Spot fixing in T20 – what’s the problem?

Today sees the start of the Bangladesh Premier League which is, as you would expect, a Tit20 tournament. Now for those of you unsure what Tit20 is, it is when cricketers of hit and miss talent come together and play a version of the noble game of cricket. Only it is shorter, driven by gimmicks and generally attracts a dodgy audience. Think of it as the midget porn of cricket then.

Nail on head.

Styled on the IPL (Indian Premier League), the BPL is made up of six teams: Barisal Burners, Chittagong Kings, Dhaka Gladiators, Duronto Raishahi, Khulna Royal Bengal and Sylhet Royals. But the big news from yesterday’s opening ceremony was that a prominent B’deshi player was approached to take part in a spot of ‘spot-fixing’. Shock, horror, yawn…

ICC Test rankings – do we really need them?

England have just been completely tarred and feathered by Pakistan in a 3-0 drubbing that the ‘world no.1s’ will look to quickly forget. In the Series they only passed 200 in an innings once, and as usual, looked completely useless in a place where spin bowlers tend to get tossed the ball more than the seamers.

Right...

So what do we make of this? Pakistan had a rare purple patch, or are these ICC Test rankings a little bit of bollocks?

Pad up for a good cause – Cricket Without Boundaries.

As a big cricket fan, one of my most favourite sites to visit is AlternativeCricket.com . Over the past year I have been fortunate enough to have gotten to know the man behind it, and the great tweets of @altcricket, and I can confirm he is not just a great writer but also a rather top bloke. His name is Nishant Joshi, and even though he is devastatingly handsome and charming, I feel I should rather tell you about a very good cause he is currently getting behind. Together with Cricket Without Boundaries, Nishant is heading off to Kenya to visit orphanages and schools to teach the locals about HIV as well as coach them cricket.

A cover drive a day can keep HIV away.

And you too can help out while he is over there with the ease of a Kallis cover drive.

Reviewing the SA vs SL ODI series.

When you start any contest in life your aim is to win it, and the Proteas did just that in the recent ODI Series against Sri Lanka securing it 3-2. Mission accomplished then? Well not quite as the five games that just passed sure do leave us with some interesting questions to ponder ahead of the Proteas’ overseas tours.

Winning - but only just.

It was very much a Series of two halves as they say in the classics, so let’s have a deeper look and see what we are about to take to Frodoland.

England accuse Pakistan of match fixing – again.

Dubai – in the wake of getting their asses handed to them by Pakistan to the tune of 10 wickets, the world’s no.1 Test team England have hit back with fresh accusations of match fixing against their opponents.

Not again!

Closing the game out within three days with a commanding performance with both bat and ball, the English team have forthrightly said that the Pakistanis had blatant intentions on winning this game from the start and they are appalled with the result.

Sorry Graeme, it’s not me it’s you…

Break ups. We’ve all been there right? They aren’t easy, in fact they often feel like the most difficult things in the world to do sometimes. You don’t want to be mean, but you know being the one that does the breaking up will only end up in you being the bad guy. You think it over and try find ways to avoid doing the deed, you even think that things will get better if you give it some time, but no matter what you think of, you know in your heart that when it’s over, it’s over.

There there...it'll be okay.

Graeme Smith – it’s over.

SA vs SL ODI Series Preview.

The first ODI Series of 2012 is about to take middle and drop it like it’s hot. The two teams involved are the Proteas who host the plucky Sri Lankans in five matches that I reckon will be a lot more competitive than the Test series which the hosts won rather comfortably in the end.

King Kallis - raising more wood than Jenna Jameson.

Let’s have a look at what stands ahead with all you need to know about this Series.
