At TheBounce we believe that summer was invented for cricket. Test cricket mostly, but throughout the year you will find endless banter and features about all forms of the noble game right here.

Reviewing the SA vs SL ODI series.

When you start any contest in life your aim is to win it, and the Proteas did just that in the recent ODI Series against Sri Lanka securing it 3-2. Mission accomplished then? Well not quite as the five games that just passed sure do leave us with some interesting questions to ponder ahead of the Proteas’ overseas tours.

Winning - but only just.

It was very much a Series of two halves as they say in the classics, so let’s have a deeper look and see what we are about to take to Frodoland.

England accuse Pakistan of match fixing – again.

Dubai – in the wake of getting their asses handed to them by Pakistan to the tune of 10 wickets, the world’s no.1 Test team England have hit back with fresh accusations of match fixing against their opponents.

Not again!

Closing the game out within three days with a commanding performance with both bat and ball, the English team have forthrightly said that the Pakistanis had blatant intentions on winning this game from the start and they are appalled with the result.

Sorry Graeme, it’s not me it’s you…

Break ups. We’ve all been there right? They aren’t easy, in fact they often feel like the most difficult things in the world to do sometimes. You don’t want to be mean, but you know being the one that does the breaking up will only end up in you being the bad guy. You think it over and try find ways to avoid doing the deed, you even think that things will get better if you give it some time, but no matter what you think of, you know in your heart that when it’s over, it’s over.

SA vs SL ODI Series Preview.

The first ODI Series of 2012 is about to take middle and drop it like it’s hot. The two teams involved are the Proteas who host the plucky Sri Lankans in five matches that I reckon will be a lot more competitive than the Test series which the hosts won rather comfortably in the end.

King Kallis - raising more wood than Jenna Jameson.

Let’s have a look at what stands ahead with all you need to know about this Series.

Time for Boucher to hang up the gloves?

The cracks have been creeking for a while, but for me, yesterday showed that Boucher is done now. He dropped two straight forward chances, then when he held onto one from Morne Morkel he simply applauded instead of appealing/celebrating. I say put a fork in him – how about you?

Players naturally don’t pick themselves and generally play until this doesn’t happen, but quitting while you are ahead never goes out of fashion.

An innovation in Test cricket – The JugCam.

I got a bit of heat over this on Twitter yesterday so I felt a blog post was well within order to elaborate on my idea. Now before those who took offense throw their last mince pie at their computer that I’m writing about this, hear me out, this could be a great addition to Test cricket.

Sweet jugs.

Nowadays you can’t go to a match in any sport without people crapping on about innovations in sport or what will help the game appeal to a wider audience. Well below is my little idea for Test cricket in SA.

Majola makes it rain at his hearing – from his eyes.

As we all know Cricket SA is in a bit of Bangladesh at the moment. With nobody really keen to put any money into it due to all the behind the scenes corruption allegation, it is fair to say some feathers need to be ruffled. And ruffled they are being as Gerald Majola is currently getting grilled like a sirloin on a Saturday.

Sure Lalit, ya, I can wait 30 days for it to clear.

Majola said this affair had been an absolute nightmare for him and his family. This was after he did the noble South African administrator thing of playing the victim and deflecting the blame to everyone except the CSA tea lady who works in the offices at the Wanderers Club. Majola decided to go after Ali Bacher the most in a power play of allegations which Ravi Shastri himself would have battled to commentate on in real time.
