The final BounceBadge for February is up for grabs in the #NMS2012 and we have another two rather fine contestants. In keeping with last week’s theme that went really well, we are going with another blonde vs brunette battle. Blonde came out victorious last week, will it be the same again, or will brunette fight back and level the score?
The world of sport is an endless stream of worthwhile entertainment. Occasionally it happens outside the bounce of the ball, but never outside of the eye of TheBounce.
Hanna Ewers – #NMS2012 BounceBadge winner.
Congratulations to Hanna Ewers for winning the BounceBadge in week 2 of the Sports Illustrated New Model Search. Hanna managed to beat off the challenge from Nicollette van der Westhuizen by gaining 122 votes to her 67. This also puts her in the lead for BounceGirl of the month here on the site, and judging by the reaction from our readers, next week’s girls will have to make a rather special impression to beat her.
Get behind a good cause – #Process4players.
Twitter really does expose you to the sharpest sporting minds out there. @GarethRosslee, who I mention from time to time on the site, has cleverly seen a positive for seeing Jurie Roux on national TV. I know, the sheer thought of that last sentence screams ‘genius’ as Jurie is one of the most painful characters to have ever appeared in front of a camera. For those of you who don’t know, Jurie is the SARU top brass who announced that the Kings will play SupeRugby next year during Heyneke Meyer’s coaching appointment. He could not tell us how this will happen, but he said there is a process involved and that transformation in all forms is a process that he appears to be processing in his mind at all times.
Now we all know that this is all bollocks and the Kings are mere window dressing that won’t solve anything other than creating a high profile ‘process’. So tonight on Boots n All Jurie will be on getting quizzed about this issue. Standby for the word ‘process’ to be used more often than Warren Brosnihan and CRACKER!
But enough about the back story, here is where the fun comes in…
Simone van Rooyen – #2012NMS BounceBadge winner.
We have our first winner of the BounceBadge in the #NMS2012 competition. Starting the week with twins Roxane and Simone van Rooyen, we were expecting a closely fought battle. It ended however with a rather a comfortable win for Simone 93 votes to 42. She secures for herself the first BounceBadge and is now in the running to be the BounceGirl of Feb if her total of votes is not eclipsed by the other contestants this month.
Puma shopping with 2011 BounceGirl Caitlin Fox.
Last year was a good year for the blog. We won Best Sports Blog at the 2011 SA Blog Awards and this made me very happy. But not for a second did I think I managed to achieve this by just writing features and posting the odd YouTube video of a footballer taking one to the nuts. Oh no, I think it is fair to say that the monthly BounceGirl feature had a fair amount to do with attracting an audience, so it was with great pleasure that I got to take our BounceGirl of 2011 Caitlin Fox out for a spot of shopping.
Well I didn’t actually take her shopping, jeez, I’m not Richard Gere in Pretty Woman, our favourite sports brand PUMA did, as they generously sponsored the super cool prize for the winner of the BounceGirl 2011 Poll. As Caitlin came out tops in the hotly contested poll, she got to pick and choose some sweet Puma gear to the value of R3000 at their store in Fourways Johannesburg.
Play TheBounce SuperBru pool – Be a legend.
You can play in SuperBru pools, or you can play in Super SuperBru pools. TheBounce’s Super 15 SuperBru pool very much falls into the latter so let’s get into it as February is here!
Oh yeah, we’re locked and loaded for the biggest Super Rugby campaign ever and naturally want you to be more a part of it as we do love our readers here on TheBounce.
The Sports Illustrated New Model Search 2012.
As February approaches so does the start of the annual Sport Illustrated New Model Search (NMS). Exciting times indeed, but not only are Sports Illustrated starting a marvelous search for fresh hotness across our fair land, they have involved this here blog in the process. Yes sir (or madam), TheBounce will be involved in a sort of judging capacity helping in the tough, yet ultimately rewarding process, of finding their next new model for the next Swimsuit edition.
Together with Sports Illustrated’s Online Guy, we shall be assessing the talent on a weekly basis and naturally this is where you come in. Like I was ever going to exclude you…
