Skinstad in hot water after commentary term.
Ex-Bok and now SuperSport rugby commentator Bob Skinstad, has appeared to have angered some by using the term ‘coconut’ during the Sharks vs Chiefs game this past weekend. Bob, quite rightly voicing his frustration at a dangerous tackle from the Chiefs winger Masaga on his opposite number Mvovo, referred to it as ‘an absolute coconut tackle’. A fair call considering the clash of heads that took place.

But what Bob failed to realize is that the term coconut is actually a derogatory term when used towards Pacific Islanders. Who knew? Bob naturally apologized for using this term saying he naturally meant no harm by it. But there is more to this story as Bob said something a whole lot worse during the same broadcast which I for one just won’t stand for…
