Another win by the Boks, albeit by a less than convincing 21-10. Mission accomplished in Heyneke Meyer’s eyes, but is it good enough? Have we, as fans, become too unreasonable and critical? Our National Rugby team is ranked 2nd by the IRB, they have won 2 out of 2 in the End of Year Tour so far, yet we are still not satisfied.
To a certain extend I feel that we have every right to be unsatisfied though.

After finally getting over the Sharks loss to Western Province in the Currie Cup final two weeks ago, I was finally ready to watch some rugby again. And watch some rugby I got to do as the past weekend had a seemingly endless supply of it with the first week of the end of year internationals.
5 big games, okay there were more, but even I have my limits.
Being the passionate Sharks fan that I am, it’s not easy, but it has to be said – Well done Province. Well played!
It happened!! The 11-year drought is finally ended as WP beat the Sharks in Durban on Saturday and claimed their 33rd Currie Cup title.

It’s WAR! Sharks vs WP in the Currie Cup finals!
We all expected it, and now it is reality. I can’t wait to see my boys do it again at the Shark Tank on Saturday, and against a team like WP, it could not be scripted better.

Austrians are renowned for their Apfelstrudel, Wiener schnitzel and schnapps. Aside from their Winter Olympians, they seldom hit the radar of the sports world though, but this changed yesterday. Felix Baumgartner will be the coolest guy in the room for the rest of his life.
Here’s looking at you world.
Baumgartner set the world record for the highest and fastest ever free fall with a 39km skydive! He became the first human to break the sound barrier outside of a vehicle. Wow, we salute you, Felix.

At approximately 19h00 (CAT) on Saturday, a huge power outage was experienced by most of the people of Johannesburg. What was first thought to be only a problem in the Soweto region, soon spread to the Greater Johannesburg Metropolitan Area. In a few minutes, the whole of SA was out. What a catastrophe! A total All Black out!
According to ESCOM (Erratic Springbok Coach Official Meyer), the “Inexperienced” are to blame for the darkness.
I am not so sure I agree.

What a splendid sporting weekend! Feeling like a bit of a zombie today though but totally worth staying up for the American Horror Story… (also known as the Ryder Cup).
Team Europe stunned the world of golf with the greatest comeback on foreign soil in the 85-year history of the Cup. Tiger Woods could only watch from afar as Martin Kaymer sealed victory for the Europeans. Humble pie, America?
