Springbok team to beat the Scottish.

Last week I had a bit of a rant over team selection, so to go too in depth this time round for the Bok team selected to beat the Scottish would be a bit of an over-kill.

Aweh! Juan is in.

Two changes to the run on team from last week, one with the Beast having to go home with a heart condition, the other with Heyneke Meyer coming to his senses and starting an outside center at outside center. Let’s see what the rest looks like.

11 years. 11 long hard suffering years but all of that is now forgotten as Western Province are again Currie Cup Champions!

Champions again!

Written off by pretty much everyone outside of the actual team leading into the game, Western Province managed to came back from 12-3 down to the much favoured Sharks to win 25-18 and record one of the greatest upsets in Currie Cup finals history. The game was so good, I even watched it again the day after!

The Springboks – Let’s sort this out now.

Last week I wrote a post characterized by some serious questions involving team selections and a plan B for the Boks. This came in the wake of a second crushing defeat to the All Blacks where we didn’t seem to have much of a clue, much less a chance of actually winning.

Seemed the worst was still to come as we took a sound 30-13 beating at the hands of the Wallabies last Saturday, who let’s face it, aren’t exactly New Zealand. Referee conspiracies aside, there is some proper kak starting to show and I for one am finding it hard to be my positive self about the Bokke.

Bok fans - furious at the moment.

But far be it for me to be a fair weather supporter and join the band wagon of mud slingers. Oh no, because it is not lost on me that back in 2006 where we weren’t too flash in the Tri-Nations but then went on to win the World Cup in 2007. In 2008 at the beginning of P Divy’s coaching stint, we took a fair few beatings in that year’s Tri-Nations too before bending the Aussies over our knee at Ellis Park with a 60 pointer and then going on to Lions tour and Tri-Nations victories in 2009.
