Beat the Caption! SupeRugby Edition with Hazard Golf.

Written by The Editor on . Posted in Beat the Caption

It’s been a while, but #BeatTheCaption is back! The Stormers vs Bulls rivalry is a fierce one, so apply your smarts to beating the caption to this priceless pic of Bulls fan Kurt Darren and I squaring up during our recent golf match.

Obeliks had lost a lot of weight 6 weeks into his Pierre Spies challenge and felt somewhat threatened by the gigantic Smurf!

Well done Bruce M – you win the Hazards of your choice!

Honourable mentions to Mike and Jaco.

10 things to keep in mind when talking to a real Sharks fan.

Written by The Editor on . Posted in Features, Rugby

1: They speak English. It may not appear so at first but it is what they are trying to do.

2: Don’t hit on their sisters – chances are he schmaaks her too.

3: In school all they learned was how to flare pants and play sport. Don’t expect them to know a thing about South African history or who was playing in the Currie Cup in the 1980’s or earlier.

4: If they invite you to the beach to play some touchies, say no as once you are there they will proceed to tell you how they have slammed every dol there in a bikini.

5: Don’t mention The Bulls or genuine Afrikaans people – they are in absolute awe of them.

6: Don’t talk about the school you went to – theirs was better and would have klapped you at rugby, end of story.

7: Do not talk about how cool Cape Town is or how much fun you have at the J&B Met. Durban is way better and The July is THE event to go to.

8: Hairstyles are to be admired not questioned.

9: They don’t drink cane because it is cheap, they drink it cause whisky isn’t hard enough.

10: The Sharks should have won every tournament they have played in over the last 15 years – they were just really unlucky at times.

Weekend sports recap in 100 words 18/10/10.

Written by The Editor on . Posted in Uncategorized

What a weekend and what a result for the Sharks who subdued the Bulls with a 16-12 win after overcoming the rain, the pressure and the bees. They will host Western Province next weekend after they completely flattened the Cheetahs 31-7. Predictable the Proteas beat Zimbabwe in both ODI’s over the weekend but the bowling remains a worry with the minnows getting over 250 on both occasions. Arsenal won, Man Utd and Chelsea drew and Liverpool lost 2-0 to Everton. Finally Bangladesh beat New Zealand, again, to win their one series 4-0, how bloody piss poor are those black caps!

Good morning and happy Monday to ya.
